Mothers Against Drunk Drivers

MADD: Last Round

MADD: Tequila

I like the concept and the copy of the two last ads, however I feel there’s a little bit of a lose on consistency. The first ad could be a close up of the urn so you can see only the hands of the friends holding it. The last one could be more dramatic in terms of the make-up. The second one is my favorite, it has the best of the concept.

Fun Billboard

Hotwheels: Curl

Great execution from Ogilvy & Mather Colombia. Many awards have been attribuited to Hot Wheels for their creative activations and billboards, but I have never seen one like this. Simple, no copy, just the excitement of the product putted into real life. I can see this billboard winning awards in the next festivals.

What others do while you’re sleeping

Bodyguard mosquito repellent: Dinner

Bodyguard mosquito repellent: Baby

You never know what happens when you fall asleep.

To be honest, for a mosquito repellent I almost feel empathy when I see this ad. I love the illustration but I am not sure if it is quite effective for the benefit of the product. The product shot is ok in that size but the headline could be bigger and moved so it gain important in hierarchy.

Surfrider Foundation: Fossil, Bag

Surfrider Foundation: Fossil, Tins

Surfrider Foundation: Fossil, Bottle

When we pollute the sea, we pollute for a long time.
Help us to keep the ocean clean.

I love the execution and art direction for this concept. They really made it when trying to make a replica of a fossil. The only thing I would suggest is to move the website or give it a little more weight, I find it loose in the top right corner.

Earth Hour ads

Digital art selected for the Daily Inspiration #779

Digital art selected for the Daily Inspiration #779

The Hearth Hour is now a worldwide activity sponsored by many non-profit organizations, media, and individuals of the world. In this ad the people of WWF did their part by using neon lights to explain the problem and then ask people to join the cause. Something very suttle and simple, but works. I don’t know if it was from two different places but there’s no consistency with the brand and layout, only the concept.

Simple ad. Complex tool.

Leatherman: Prepared

Leatherman: DIY

Leatherman: Realist

Looking for ad campaigns that use icons or simple illustrations I realized that there’s a trend or a pattern of using overlay texture for the background for almost all of them. What this type of campaigns make me think is that it is possible to make a good campaign with a nice concept without having the best budget ever, is just about the idea and and good art direction.

What I like from this two posters is are the typefaces and the way the manage the positive and negative space. I also like the illustrations and how they made typefaces out of them.
